Dr Jon Lipman, Director of Vedic Architecture for the Global Country of World Peace in America, spoke recently on Maharishi Channel's Global Family Chat about the value of establishing Maharishi Peace Colonies throughout the world.
'A Peace Colony is a community that will have buildings constructed according to the principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture', Dr Lipman explained. 'They will have right orientation and right placement according to the most powerful influence of Natural Law on the earth, which is the sun.
'The buildings will also have right dimensions according to the proportions of Nature. When buildings contain right dimensions, right placement, and right orientation, they create balance, harmony, and enlightenment, and good health and prosperity for the dwellers'.
Dr Lipman noted that the Maharishi Peace Colony homes will be built sustainably, using non-toxic and natural materials, 'without wasting the earth's precious energy and resources. . . .
'The buildings will be designed so that the electrical systems do not create electro smog, the emanation of electric and magnetic fields which have a damaging effect on health. Every community will have a shopping market and commercial center in walking distance, and all vehicles will be non-polluting'.
Dr Lipman defined a special feature of every Maharishi Peace Colony, the Brahma-Sthan, 'a universal principle of nature that maintains wholeness from the centre point.
'This principle is found on the scale of galaxies down to the atoms inside the cells of our body, from the greatest to the smallest. The layout of the Peace Colony will mirror this structure in nature, and buildings will be arranged around this powerful centre point, the Brahma-Sthan'.
Amenities of the Maharishi Peace Colony will include schools that implement Consciousness-Based Education, Vedic Health Care, and group practice of Yogic Flying 'to create the influence of peace in the community and the surrounding environment. . . .
'Finally, the Maharishi Peace Colony will enjoy what we call the Maharishi Vastu effect, whereby the coherence inside of the community will repel negative influences that might exist outside in the environment.
'These influences of right orientation and right placement will support ideal health, family harmony, and growth to enlightenment.'
